sorry if this seems obvious but sjdbdj just to be sure this wouldn't be taking advantage of the system or anything:

can tdm threads initiated prior to acceptance into the game (and NOT used for samples/AC/etc) be submitted for rewards?

Absolutely! As long as they haven't been previously used, TDM samples are totally fine!
