QUESTBOARD

Easy Quests

Toy Drive

The time of year has come for generosity and gift-giving. A group of locals that run a local orphanage are asking not only for gift donations, but for pairs of Dreamers to help sort through the donations and do away with any broken or defective gifts. They must be aware of what children that age like, and ensure not to allow anything dangerous to make its way into the donation pool. The convention in November leaves behind a lot of Dreamer-themed items to sort through as well. Anyone pocketing gifts will be punished. Rewards for this quest include satisfaction at having helped the needy and one free gift from the donation pool to keep.

Arctic Arms Race

A snowball war is being advertised in Stellari. Locals and Dreamers alike are invited to participate, but first, preparations must be made. A quest posting asks local Dreamers to band together and shape as many snowballs they can. Snowballs are stacked in a large pyramid on the battlefield to lie in wait until the day of the debacle. Like with the snow-shaping contest, the snow is oddly wet and difficult to pack, but with enough strength and determination, perfectly round snowballs can still be made - and they must be perfect, or else the officials will reject them and make the Dreamers start over. Rewards for this question include a small amount of cords and a slingshot designed for launching snowballs.

Not-so-secret Santa

Legends tell of a jolly old man who gives gifts to the local children. Every year, children line up to sit on his lap and have their winter wishes granted. This year, a quest posting asks Dreamers to come play the role - one of the gift-giver, and one of his jolly assistant, taking photos and keeping the line of children in order. It's not easy to please every young goblin, gelfling, or dragonkin that comes along. Some of the children are absolute brats, throwing tantrums, kicking, screaming, even biting. It's the Dreamers' job to remain patient and accommodating until every child has been given their opportunity to meet the gift-giver. Rewards for this question include a middling amount of cords and the promise they won't have to do this again until next year.

That's a Wrap!

With the gift-giving holiday soon approaching, locals everywhere are scrambling to get their shopping done. A quest posting asks for Dreamers with deft hands to offer their services wrapping oddly-shaped items and packages. When the Dreamers arrive, they'll quickly realize the challenge of wrapping something round, gigantic, spiky, slimy, etc., etc. All gifts must be wrapped so that all their parts are covered, and so there's no telling what's inside the package. Be careful. The paper is prone to tearing. Rewards for this question include a small amount of cords and Easy-Wrap Gift Bagsā„¢ for Dreamers' own gift-wrapping purposes. These bags safely hold items of any size, and definitely would have been useful for completing this quest. Shame they didn't seem to have any on hand until you were done.
Medium Quests

Preparing a Feast

A local dragonkin man is looking to hire 2-3 private chefs for a dinner he's hosting. He promises all ingredients will be provided at his home, where the chefs will work. The only problem is, once the Dreamers arrive, they will find that the only ingredients in the house are stale, scant, or downright rotten. The dragonkin continues to insist that only ingredients from his home be used, so Dreamers will have to get creative and innovate. Rewards for this question include a middling amount of cords, as well as the promise of a free meal (the same one Dreamers cooked...)

Snow Dreamers

A contest is being held, and Dreamers are pleaded with to enter. It seems at first to simply be a snowman-building contest, but to actually win, you'll have to work a little harder. Dreamers are asked to sculpt images of each other with as much detail to accuracy as possible. What's more, the snow you're tasked to work with is unusually wet and difficult to shape. There are an array of tools, but it still seems an uphill climb. Those who win an award for their snow Dreamer will receive the pride of a job well done, a small amount of cords, and a miniature "ice" sculpture of the person they sculpted. It never melts, but is cold to the touch.

Sleds on the Slope

A sled race is advertised on the quest board with Dreamers encouraged to attend. Sleds are provided (are they greased on the bottom?), and Dreamers are warned that the course can be quite rocky. Sure enough, they stand on a tall slope on the outskirts of Visium, something more suited to skiing or snowboarding. The way down is full of obstacles - sharp turns, ramps that send you flying, etc. It's not an easy race to win, but those who make it to the bottom unscathed will receive a warm beverage of their choice, and the race winner will receive a large amount of cords, and a golden sled to display (or use).

Make a Wish

This time of year is full of rogue wishes. Here in the land of wishes, one would think they'd be granted left and right, but the locals are struggling to realize their winter dreams. A quest posting seeks out Dreamers who can help grant local wishes. Wishes are handed to them on slips of paper - finding lost items, a little girl who wants a pony, someone whose business is struggling, etc., etc. Dreamers are tasked with doing whatever they can to see these wishes granted. The crystal will not help grant any of these wishes, to Dreamers or locals. Each individual local may reward a granted wish with any number of things, including hand-crafted items, foods, or even small potions. Any Dreamer who participates will also receive a middling amount of cords from the person who posted the quest listing.
Difficult Quests

Treacherous Trees

It's the time of year where locals curiously bring large trees inside of their houses to place gifts under. Some don't understand this tradition, and some find it familiar. Dreamers are recruited to help chop down trees on tree farms outside of Somnius and Stellari - but these aren't trees for inside local homes. These trees are massive, chopped down using gigantic, two person saws. Some need to have the branches trimmed first, or the entire area cleared. What will these massive trees be used for? Some rumor a celebration at Seravo's castle, or note the decoration efforts in the city of Stellari. This is a dangerous but important task. Dreamers who complete it without being squashed by giant trees receive a large amount of cords, and a fake, pre-decorated tree to put in their own home.

Lighting the Streets

Afraid of heights? This isn't the quest for you. The listing asks Dreamers with flight or light abilities to help hang festival lights all over the cities of Somnius and Stellari. Of course, you can always climb too, levitate, whatever one may need - either way, you'll be up high. The winter winds batter and berate Dreamers, threatening to throw their flights off course, or send non-fliers tumbling to the ground. It's dangerous work, so Dreamers are rewarded with a large amount of cords, and a miniature twinkling star that follows them around every time they're out in the dark.

Lost in the Snow

A local gelfling man has gone missing after boasting to the town about a treacherous hike he planned on completing. Snow has blown in, covering the peaks of the Lumindeas air cliffs, devastating winds blowing through. Dreamers are begged to venture into the snow and find the lost gelfling, though they may risk freezing, starving, or getting lost themselves. A reward is offered of a massive amount of cords, so long as the man is brought back safely.

On Thin Ice

An emergency quest posting appears on the board. Lake Termina has frozen over, but only around the edges. A local goblin child has wandered out on its surface to ice skate, but now finds herself trapped in the middle of the lake on cracking ice. She's too afraid to make it back to shore, so Dreamers must venture out themselves to retrieve her. The ice cracks under their feet, parts of the lake splitting open and threatening to swallow those who traverse it. So long as the goblin girl is brought back home safely, a reward of a massive amount of cords will be given. Social status in Somnius will also greatly increase.
Guidelines

Cords are the currency of Lumindeas. These amounts are handwaved and will not be tracked, as these quests are meant to facilitate interaction and the rewards are meant to be fun rather than a separate reward system.

Regains are still only earned through shards that are further earned by Activity. Quest logs and threads can be turned in for shards in addition to earning the allotted cords or other rewards.

When completing quests, use your best judgement and try not to ask too many probing or nitpicky questions. This is not something we plan on micromanaging!
