Hi, mods! Couple related questions here: (1) Could a character receive an item that isn’t theirs; and if so, (2) would this affect canonmates if they wished for the $collection that this item is part of?
Specifics for clarity: Omori features a photo album of pictures taken by one character, who’s not currently in-game. Aubrey here steals it; it’s later retrieved, and the owner gives it to Sunny, but Aubrey has removed & kept a choice handful of photos. At both Aubrey and Sunny’s canon points, the album is in Sunny’s possession; however, as Sunny is from later in the game, he has all the pictures.
I’m thinking Aubrey will ask for one singular photo, which from her canon point is still “hers.” Sunny’s mun gave me the OOC thumbs-up on this, but since it could affect future castmates I wanted to check in first. (1) Would Aubrey actually get anything; and (2) if the answer is yes, and Sunny or a different castmate were to ask for the album in the future, would that photo be missing?
Totally fine with me if the answer is nope, not hers to request/receive in the first place. Second question is just to clarify the hypothetical in advance. Hope this makes sense, and let me know if anything needs clarifying! I know it’s a little back-and-forth ^^;
Important/significant items that change hands over time are a tricky situation that would have to be dealt with case-by-case. However, in this case, since you have the permission of the other relevant character, it should be fine.
