I promise his skills won’t be any more impressive than something you see a side character pull off in Harry Potter. He’s not capable mind altering abilities (at best he can make a sleeping potion), and most of the more gimicky spells they add in are more cosmetic (like changing the color of your clothes). The boys at his school throw fireballs at each other all the time and yet no one winds up in the hospital with 3rd degree burns, to put it perspective.
should probably mention his self nerf too- his magic generated a toxic byproduct. Even with a stone to filter it, he can’t keep casting forever. Like he could cast a barrier, but he has to pump magic into it to keep it holding, so if it takes a heavy enough hit he could essentially drain all his reserves within a minute. While DOES have more stamina than the other housewardens, he lacks power and control. Like an RPG tank.
And if he accumulates too much of this byproduct he goes crazy and goes into a murderous rampage, so he definitely isn’t keen on that.
