❖ Good Faith

We expect everyone in game to assume the best intentions and good faith from other players in the game when interacting. We expect this of ourselves as a mod team as well! If we all approach each other with good faith interaction and intention in mind, we feel this will make our time in Labyrinthum together much smoother and much more fun!

❖ Appropriate Mod Contact

All interaction with the mod team in a moderating capacity is to be done through labyrinmods via the Mod Contact and DM, or via the FAQ or Questions pages on associated event posts by either labyrinmods or labyrinhelp here on Dreamwidth. labyrinmods regarding player conflict or game-related issues.

We will not honor requests to continue conversations regarding moderation issues in places other than on Dreamwidth. Please keep your contact with the mod team respectful.

❖ Unruly behaviour

Labyrinthum is a private game and we want to foster a positive and relaxed environment. This means we reserve the right to remove any player who fails to show respect and courtesy towards others, whether within the game environment or outside of it. This also means we can refuse an invitation if there is evidence that a prospective player has engaged in harassment, hostile and offensive behaviour, or holds bigoted ideologies towards others based on race, religion, culture and sexual orientation. We will judge whether to deliver a warning or an outright ban on a case by case basis.

We encourage players to sort out disagreements on their own if they can, whether through discussion or the usage of player opt-out posts. Mods will step in if there is evidence of problematic behaviour from a player such as bullying, harassment, bigoted ideologies, blatant disregard for boundaries and godmodding or infomodding. Targeting other players via the anon comms is also unacceptable.

❖ IC =/= OOC

We are a community of people pretending to be fictional characters. It should not go any further than that. Negative interactions between characters should not result in negativity between players or harassment/disrespect directed toward players. Threads taking a turn towards negative CR or going in an unexpected way is often the nature of RP, and should not reflect the OOC relationship between players.

It is expected that players reference each other's permissions page and communicate with each other should their comfort levels regarding threads change. Repeated evidence of a lack of an IC/OOC divide and inability to come to an understanding with other players will be handled by moderators if issues cannot be worked out between players alone.

❖ IC behaviour

Infomodding and powermodding is not allowed. Characters should only know the information that is readily available or information they have ICly obtained through their interactions, exploration and participation in events. Characters will also be nerfed upon arrival and should only have the abilities they have managed to regain through rewards.

Fourth-walling is only allowed if the other party is OOCly agreeable, and it makes sense for your character (e.g. your character canonically loves BLEACH and would recognize its characters).

Mind-reading or use of abilities that encroach on the boundaries of other characters should only be used if the other party is OOCly agreeable. Players should have discussions between each other or look at the permissions posts of the other character before using such abilities. The rewards team will give notes whenever powers are regained, but use your common sense.

❖ Activity

AC is 5 comments from your character in a single thread in the month you are checking for. Beyond AC, we would encourage a certain level of activity and participation within the setting, so if there is evidence of bare minimum activity from a player for a few months, they will not be allowed to app another character. Squatting is generally not cool and we would like to limit it if we can.

There will be no AC reminder. Players who miss AC or fail to meet it, and are not on hiatus, will be removed from the game.

❖ Appable characters

All players have to be 18+. This is non-negotiable.

Real people and canon OCs (with the exception of characters from MMORPGs or TTRPGs) are not appable. All other fictional characters are appable. Exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis for canon OCs that have no connection to any canonical character.

For characters below 15, a case has to be made on why they are suitable for the dark fantasy setting of the game.

❖ Adult content

While this game is smut-friendly, please use appropriate content warnings for any extreme violence, sex (especially if underaged) or other potentially traumatic material. This also goes for any links given as Rewards or AC; our mods would rather know what they're getting into when they open a link.

Finally, we prefer that anything too spicy be kept to inboxes, but if it does happen on a log, please don't have anything explicit in the top comments of a thread; it should at least take a little drilling down (behave) into the thread to see anything scandalous.
